Why we are obsessed about Andre Millan
When people hear the word “Millan” they usually think of one of two things:
a) The city in Italy
b) Cesar Millan, world-renowned dog trainer
However, there is now a third type of Millan who is making a big splash in the animal kingdom. Today on [website name], we are so excited to introduce Cesar Millan’s firstborn son, Andre Millan! At just 27 years old, Andre has already carved out a special path for himself and is doing incredible work with both pets and people alike.
With a passion for animals, Andre adds a unique spin to the family business
Now, if the name sounds familiar that may be because you have spotted Andre on tv before! As an actor and television star, he has appeared alongside his father on shows such as Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan and Dog Nation. He has also been featured on We Are Washington and hosted segments for Nat Geo Wild’s Pet Talk.
But Andre Millan’s talent goes beyond television.
On Instagram, he describes himself as an “animal handler” with an interest in dog psychology and educating humans worldwide. Perhaps that’s what lead him to pursue a more conscious way of living.
In his own words, Andre shares his goals for the future.
“I want to be helping humans transition from their bad habits, or addictions, to a healthy lifestyle with the help animals. I personally believe it is very important for humans to create a bond with animals and get in touch with their instinctual/emotional side.”
Using the human-animal bond to heal
Of all human qualities, Andre Millan most admires patience.
“It takes a lot to be understanding or to be patient nowadays,” he says. “And if you can find someone who has those qualities, surround yourself with that supportive energy.”
It’s no surprise then that Andre believes dogs (and animals in general) have the patience and power to help people evolve, overcome issues of shyness and anxiety, and emerge from their shells. Afterall, he has seen it happen firsthand. Andre is a supporter of The Help Group. This organization runs a Paws and Pals for Kids with Autism program where children can connect with dogs to encourage and motivate them as they develop skills.
This kind of human-animal relationship is precisely what interests Andre.
Childhood heroes who influenced his work today
Most of us are lucky to have one or two dogs at home.
Well, growing up, Andre was raised around 65 dogs of all different breeds. Wow!
Of course, because of this, his father was always a hero to Andre. But he also gained inspiration from the same personalities that many youngsters were familiar with from popular kid’s television shows. Steve Irwin, Jack Hannah, and the Kraft brothers each influenced his early view on animals. Just like us, Andre’s favorite afterschool activity was learning from these animal celebrities.
And though his family namesake is affiliated with dogs, Andre is quick to acknowledge his admiration for species that are furry, feathered, and finned.
“Dogs are not the only animal on this planet,” he once laughed in an interview. “I like all types of animals.”
In fact, Andre is regularly covered in cat fur…because he absolutely adores cats!
Whether it’s canines or felines, one thing is absolutely clear – just like his dad, Andre has a magical touch when it comes to animals.
