Why you should slow blink at your cat

If your cat is staring at you, or you just happen to walk through the room and look at your cat, do what’s called a ‘slow blink.’

Slow Blink to Your Cat

If your cat is staring, slow blink back—and watch, maybe he’ll slow blink back to you also.

Between cats, that slow blink means, “I’m comfortable with you. I’m comfortable being vulnerable enough to close my eyes in front of you.” So slow blink to your kitty—think of it as a kind of kitty kiss. It’s a way of really saying, “I’m comfortable around you.” And when he does it back, that means he’s giving you a little kitty kiss of comfort back.

And Remember

Until next time, slow blink to your kitties and keep calm and purr on!
