5 cool things you can do with your dog this summer
If you’re a crazy dog parent like we are, then you know that finding cool things to do during the summer where you can bring your dog is harder than it sounds. While most places all over the world are becoming more dog-friendly, your area may not offer things that other areas do. If you live somewhere where dogs aren’t welcomed to a lot of places, we came up with some other cool things you can do with them this summer.
5 cool things you can do with your dog this summer:
1. Create your own water park
Summer is a time where dogs get hotter than normal, and it’s important to allow them to cool off. If your dog loves water but you can’t always bring them somewhere that has water, make your own water park! Get them a kiddie pool and bring out the sprinkler and run around with them and act like you’re at a real water park. This will keep you both cool while also getting in some exercise for you and your dog!
2. Create a ‘hike crawl’ for you and your dog
There’s nothing better than adventuring a new nature trail or hiking trail in the warm weather. If you’re looking for something to do this summer with your dog, find new trails to hike or walk. Pick 5 ones that you want to complete before the summer ends, get in your car, and go! This is a fun way to stay motivated, keep your dog active, and feel successful for achieving a goal you set!
3. Find dog-friendly bars & restaurants
Most places these days are dog-friendly if they have an outdoor seating area. Call some of your local favorites and see if they are dog-friendly. If they aren’t, no big deal. If they are, grab some friends, and your dog and head out for a night filled with fun!
4. Have a pet picnic
Get your dog mom friends and head out for a doggie picnic! Whether you go to the nearest dog park or any regular park, you can let your furry friend run around with their friends while you get to enjoy the company of your friends!
5. Make summer treats
It’s no surprise that dogs get hotter quicker than humans – treat them this summer by making them frozen treats! Have your little helper pick out which ingredients they want, put it all in a blender, blend it up, put them in some cute trays and freeze them! Let them freeze for a couple of hours then enjoy some frozen treats with your bestie!
Whether you want to stay local or take a road trip, there are so many fun things you can do with your dog this summer. Doing these things are great ways to bond with your pup and keep you both active and moving. Get out there, soak up some sun, burn off some energy, and enjoy each other’s company!
