Cats vs dogs: Which is better?

Now more than ever, people are looking to adopt pets. Loneliness is on the rise. Millions of employees are still working from a home. Naturally, a pet’s company can help ease feelings of isolation and provide endless love.

But which to choose? A dog or cat?

For a single person, there are benefits and drawback to both canines and felines.

Why cats are the best

Cats are a great choice for people who value their independence. Since they don’t require backyard play time or walks around the block, cats are good for busy people. You can leave a cat at home for hours and not worry…they are happy to nap in a sunny window.

Kitties are also clean. They use litter boxes, groom themselves, and don’t usually have a stinky odor (like a wet dog might!)

Why dogs are the best

On the other hand, if you’re looking for a furry best friend who is social and active, then a dog might be a perfect match! Dogs need regular exercise. As such, outdoorsy people will benefit from a pet who they can take on hikes or to dog parks.

Dogs are also trainable. Their loyal nature and drive to please make them a good pick for someone who wants a more two-way relationship.

Afterall, they aren’t called “man’s best friend” for nothing!

Ultimately, both cats and dogs make excellent pets. If you live by yourself, be sure to weigh both options. Whatever you choose, know that a pet will be a loving addition to your life!
