Looking for a date that loves your dog?

If you’re seeking a partner in life then you also want one who is not only accepting of your dog, but will also love them like a family member too. But just how can you meet other dog lovers? It is possible, you’ll just have to search for similar groups or websites with these features.

Try Social Media

There are many different types of interests on social media. Some dog-loving groups are local, where you can meet online or in-person with other dog lovers. They may also give you ideas on where to meet fellow-dog lovers.

Dating Sites

Most datings sites have a free-getting-started option so you can sign up to see if it’s right for you. You can search on google for those that have “dog lover” as one of the profile attributes. This makes it much easier to search for men or women in your local region who also are dog lovers. We love Digg Dates and Bumble!

Say Hi to the Neighbors

If you regularly see your neighbors walking their dogs, then do say hi. Eventually, you’ll feel comfortable enough to stop and chit chat for a bit. While they may not be single, they may know of other dog lovers who are. You could even plan a gathering at your house and have people bring their dog-loving single friends.

Head to Your Local Dog Park

This one is going to be more work and anxiety. You may want to have some cards printed up with your phone number on them. If you see someone you like, ask if they’d be interested in meeting for coffee. If yes, hand them your card. Be clear that they’re under no obligation, it’s fine either way. If you really make a connection, you may chat further about why you are currently single, and how you’ve been searching for another dog lover. And if you’re uncertain, don’t make a connection, but if you see the same dog and their human the next day, say hi.

Don’t give up on your plans to find a fellow dog lover. It will not go well if they hate dogs, or are only a cat person. You need someone who accepts your dog as a child, so they’ll look after the both of you. It will involve a bit of effort and work, but once you meet your forever partner, everyone will be happy, including your dog!
