5 ways to make your pet a social media star

We all know our pets are number one in our lives, but what’s even better is making sure they’re number one in the lives of other people too. If your pet has adorable ears, or a melting gaze you think lots of other people would love to see also, you can try your hand at turning your furry friend into a social media star. Here’s how.

Take great photos

If you want your pet to be popular, you’re going to need to put a little work into your photos. Choose simple, clean backgrounds for your pet such as the ocean, a beautiful grassy field, or other stunning backdrops.

Use zoom and rapid shot options to your advantage, so you have plenty of great photos to choose from.   Try different angles as well, and don’t be afraid to do get closeups of toes or noses as well. Your fans will love it.

Post often

If you only post occasionally you will have fewer opportunities for your pet to be seen. Every time you post a picture along with some hashtags, they’ll be at the top of the “newest” in that social medias search engine. Every post is a new opportunity to meet new friends, so keep those photos coming often!

Stay active with your followers

If your followers love your contact and check back to see how your dog is doing (and for more great pictures) they may feel a little disappointed if its the same stuff. Even if you’re posting once a week, this might not be enough to feel active, especially with the fast pace of most social media.

If you do plan to only post weekly, consider listing a schedule and keeping it where people can see it. This way they know updates will come every Friday, and they just need to come back on that day.

Use the right hashtags

If you’re hoping to build a following, you’ll need to find the people who are interested in looking at photos of puppies. Try looking up similar pet feeds on the social media website of your choice, and using the same hashtags.

Although it might seem a bit annoying to constantly follow your posts with a string of hashtags, this is the best way to get the attention of people who are actively looking for photos of Good Boys.

Try different social media platforms

If you’ve been posting adorable photos of your dog for years on Twitter and get a ho-hum response, you might try the same photos on a different website. Your pet may do better on Instagram or Facebook.

Your pet can certainly be a social media star, even if your pet is unconvential, such as a lizard or a snake, taking the time to show their charming side can make a big difference. Whether your pet is a tail wagging puppy or a grumpy faced kitty, it’s possible to make your pet popular on social media. All you need to do is show people the character he truly is.
